Wild clay arrives in my studio from many different places. I gather some locally. Others are generously brought to me from people’s backyards. Opening each new batch feels like being handed a small piece of a landscape. The colours can be completely different, and every clay has its own texture, temperament and possibilities.

Working with it is full of surprises. As I prepare, shape and fire each clay, I learn how it wants to move and what it might reveal. Colours shift, textures emerge and the finished surface can never be planned in advance. That sense of discovery, and the generosity behind every shared handful of earth, is what keeps this collection evolving.
